Chief Executive Director of ICChange Dr. Abdullah Saleh, is Honored with Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40

Updated: Dec 3, 2020

Edmonton, Alberta – November 2, 2020 EDify magazine announced that Dr. Abdullah Saleh, Pediatric General Surgeon and Chief Executive Director of Innovative Canadians for Change (ICChange), will be included in Edmonton’s list of the Top 40 Under 40 for 2020.

Each year Edify magazine shines a spotlight on 40 inspiring Edmontonians who are moving the city forward through their leadership and ingenuity. Dr. Abdullah Saleh was selected from hundreds of nominees as one of this year's 40 high achievers for his commitment to improving the quality of life and security of vulnerable people around the world through both his work as a Pediatric General Surgeon and ICChange. The social enterprise operates based on the old proverb “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

As Dr. Saleh says, “It’s an honour to be recognized. The more we can shine a light on the importance of teaching, collaboration and co-creation, the better our chances of sustained success. What if you could build an entire school that teaches fishing?”

Editor-in-chief of EDify Magazine, Steven Sandor, is proud of this years’ list. "This year’s top 40 under 40 is so important because the 40 people you’re about to meet, well, they're an inspiration. These are people who have persevered, they kept on keeping on despite what’s been such a challenging year.”

Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40 appears in the November 2020 issue of EDify Magazine. For more information on Dr. Saleh’s nomination, visit https://edifyedmonton.com/people/top-40/2020/dr-abdullah-salleh/.
